Nahnu - Princess of the Nyskie (1 of 3) by Pwyllo Nahnu - Princess of the Nyskie (1 of 3) by Pwyllo
My latest plush project has taken far longer to make than I would have liked, but here she is! Her name is Nahnu, and she's what's known as a Nyskie. Nyskies are a type of sea faerie I created based on selkies, nixies, and mermaids. They look like seals with fish tails and have the ability to shape shift to suit their needs. They are shy and rarely leave the sea.

I really can't tell you how many hours I put into making Nahnu...too many, for sure! The time was broken up between other tasks and daily life, so at least a month went by just putting her together. I then spent an additional few weeks making a fantastic digital drawing of her, which I then converted into an art print.

Both Nahnu and her art print are currently available in my Etsy shop as a set. I'll also be selling solo prints of her for a limited time. You can visit my Etsy shop here: There's only one of her, so good luck! :)

Nahnu is copyrighted to me. Please do not use her, her likeness, or Nyskies without my permission. Thank you!

Haha, thank you! And don't worry, I do plan to make more. I've just been happily sidetracked with learning new skills, hehe. Thanks to your interest, though, I think I'll try to update the pattern in time to make a few for Christmas. We'll see, but there will definitely be more in the near future! ^w^ Thanks again!

That would be awesome! I can't get over the scale material you're using!

 Thanks! It's a kind of elastic or spandex type material that's plentiful here in Costa Rica. I'd never seen it before I moved here. It's really fun, but can be a pain in the butt to work with, hehe. :3

Very interesting plush.
It has a different design and I love how the mermaid tail looks.
Also the claws are amazing and that realistic eye really gives it a special look!

Oh, thank you so much! ; w ; I really admire your work with ball jointed dolls, so it's an honor to hear that from you! :squee: :glomp: Thanks again!

Really? I am glad you like my work! XDD
And that is an honor to you to hear from me! Wow!
I feel flattered!

You have a beautiful style. You don't seems to have too many plushies on your gallery, but you
deffinetly have a good eye fro design! I like those in the "personal plushies" folder.
I would say to you, go further on the style of this guy and those from that folder.
They are amazing, please make more of them! XD

Your welcome!

Oh, thank you! Haha, I don't have many plushies in my gallery right now for 2 reasons: 1. I hand sew everything, which takes a really, really long time! and 2. our wireless internet connection is really weak at the moment, so uploading pictures can sometimes take hours to do -w-;

I do plan to make more plushies like the personal fact, I have plans to work on some very soon! I'm currently trying to understand 3D plush design better (it's something I struggle with a lot) so right now I'm learning by following some others' patterns. Once I understand, though, I'll be making my own 3D plush patterns as well as the 2D ones I make now. :D I'm fascinated with posable plushies, too, and BJD art dolls, so I hope to be able to experiment with those soon, too. If only my hands could keep up with my ideas!

I really look forward to seeing more of your awesome creations! They truly are fantastic!! :squee:

Oh don't tell me about handsewing! I already pass through it.. XD
Oh my, looks like your wifi connection is even worst than mine!

I am looking forward to see them =)
3d plushies are tricky indeed, but your 2d are very cool, you shouldn't stop making the 2d even if you discover how to make the 3d ones!
Oh yeah! So good to get excited about some new art project to go on!
I understand the problem. Too many ideas, too little time!
Thank you very much for your compliment! It means a lot to me! XD
