Description

Say hello to Jingle Jack!

Jingle Jack is the first of a series of “practice plushies” I’ve been working on lately to help myself learn 3D plush design and pattern making. 3D design is an element I truly struggle with, not only in plush making, but also as a digital artist. I’ve always favored the old, traditional 2D style of animating and cartooning, which is great for digital medium, but can be limiting when applied to plush creation. Or at least, I’ve been feeling limited. So I decided to stretch my wings a bit and learn some new techniques!

Please note that Jingle Jack’s pattern is not my own design! To make him, I followed a generic ram pattern found in this book by Abigail Patner Glassenberg:

www.amazon.com/Abigail-Patner-…

However, I did modify the pattern for my own creative interests, which is why I’m sharing it here.

I’ve got a ways to go before I’ll feel confident designing my own 3D patterns, but ultimately, that’s where I’m headed. And it’s an exciting journey! I’ve already learned so many things, and I can’t wait to learn more!

Jingle Jack is not for sale, and the author is unclear about selling rights for plushies made from patterns in her book, so I will not be reproducing him to sell. However, if I do decide to make more plushies like him, I will likely give them away as contest or raffle prizes in the future. So please stay tuned and let me know if you’re interested!  :)

Friendly comments, questions, and other inquiry are always welcome! I don’t bite! :D
